Past Monthly Meetings
Listed below are some of the varied Monthly Meetings that have been held at the Clubhouse during the last three years, either in person or online:
- Mr. Hauser Belvedere, who introduced an enthusiastic audience to the splendors of beautiful Grindelwald and the Hotel Belvedere and who generously gave away a two night stay to a lucky raffle winner.
- Mr. Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, ex-CEO of the Nestle Group in Vevey to come and give a talk about his new book “Ascensions.”
- Doris Oberholzer, Certified Chakra Healing Technician and Certified FACE YOGA method teacher from Just D.O Face Yoga. Subject: The theme of the Masterclass: “Activate your Power of Transformation” and how to look and feel 10 years younger with the three steps formula: REVERSE the aging process, REGENERATE at cell level and REINFORCE durably.
- IWC member, author and storyteller: Margaret Davis Ghielmetti
Subject: book talk “Brave(ish): A Memoir of a Recovering Perfectionist. - IWC member, Co-president and artist: Jennifer Moore-Tymowska
Subject: a lecture about art and colours together with a free art class. - Journalist Luigi Jorio from Ticino, who writes articles about scientific and social issues for SWI Swissinfo. Subject: lecture guided with informative slides about “Why Melting Swiss Glaciers Affect Us All”.
- Journalist and Author: Clare O’Dea. This was Part 1 of the “IWC celebrates 50 years of Women’s Suffrage in Switzerland”. Subject: lecture and book talk ,“Voting Day”, “about 1959 when Swiss women’s right to vote is turned down at the ballot with 67% of Swiss men against”!
- Authors Katie Hayoz, Alnaaze Nathoo and Barbara Nigg.
This was Part 2 of the “IWC celebrates 50 years of Women’s Suffrage in Switzerland”. Subject: lecture and book talk ,“50 Amazing Swiss Women, True Stories You Should Know About”. - Madame Sylvie Andre and Madame Martine Moret of the FRC (Federation romande des consommateurs aka Federation of Consumers in French-speaking Switzerland! Subject: presentation with informative slides about “What the FRC can mean for consumers in French-speaking Switzerland”.
- IWC members Michelle Reed and Elisabeth Saxon, “Sustainable Living”.
