Mindfulness – NEW!

About this event :

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week introduction to mindfulness through guided meditation, mindful movements, group dialogue, and home practice. The program is an integral whole, with each lesson building on the previous one. Mindfulness refers to open, non-judgmental awareness of “present moment” experience. The MBSR program focuses on the use of mindfulness for managing stressors related to our life and to our health. Over the course of eight weeks, you’ll learn to be more present and to become more aware of automatic reactions and communication patterns that cause stress. MBSR was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979. Expected benefits include: Improved concentration and focus leading to better performance, wellbeing and health.

Place and time: Mondays, 14:00 – 16:00 at the IWC Clubhouse, Lausanne. Starting 1 May through 26 Jun (No class 5 Jun) plus a practice day (date tbd). Prior to the program, I will offer at no charge an introductory lesson on April 24 at 14:00 for those interested in taking part in this program now or in a later one that I intend to run in the fall. Missed lessons can be retaken in the fall.

Cost: CHF 600 per person for the program. For IWC members, the cost will be CHF 540 for the program (10% discount). In total 22 hours of teaching at 24.50 CHF per hour. To join and for more information contact Odile Hettler mindfulness@iwc-lausanne.org.
