IWC Monthly Meeting April

About this event :

The IWC welcomes back Vivien Newman historian and author who will talk about her new book “Tumult and Tears”: The story of the Great War told through the eyes and lives of its women poets. A unique anthology of women’s poetry placed firmly within the context of war by giving the historical, social and personal background. The women poets tell their personal stories. During the First World War hundreds of women wrote thousands of poems on multiple themes based upon their day-to-day lives from a wartime perspective. The poems covered themes from war worker to parent from serving daughter to grieving mother, sweetheart and wife; written within earshot of guns, making munitions or in relative safety at home.

After the meeting stay for lunch just tick the appropriate box on the Doodle sign-up or contact events@iwc-lausanne.org.
Monthly meetings offer a great opportunity to hear what’s happening in and around the club. Introduce new ideas and meet up with fellow IWC members you may not see regularly. Everyone is welcome!
