Cinema Lovers - "Amelie"
About this event :
Amelie (2001) by Jean Pierre Jeunet
Synopsis: Amélie is a story about a girl whose childhood was suppressed by her Father’s mistaken concerns of a heart defect. With these concerns Amélie gets hardly any real life contact with other people. This leads Amélie to resort to her own fantastical world and dreams of love and beauty. When she moves to Paris she will discover friendship and love unexpectedly (Trailer).
Why this movie?
Although is in French and I only select English speaking movies, this movie is an absolute pearl! It is not your traditional rom com, but a sweet “feel good” movie where you see the main character discover the world through her naive eyes. Furthermore, the beautiful soundtrack of Yann Tiersen makes the experience even more dreamy.
Location: Cinemateque Suisse, Room Cinematographe, Casino de Montbenon, Lausanne (see map).
