IWC – Monthly Meeting
About this event :
We also served – forgotten women of the first World War (Their war – Their lives – Their stories)
“Without women victory would have been impossible”
At this month’s meeting we are honoured to have as our guest speaker Professor Viv Newman – author and historian in social history, and in particular women’s services in the First World War. She will tell the personal stories of heroism and bravery displayed by the Allied women in every theatre of the war France, Belgium, Russia, Serbia etc. Heroism came in many forms – Their unflinching service under enemy fire, refusal to evacuate hospitals when caught in no man’s land, saving comrades from certain death as well as sheer dedication to duty. A meeting not to be missed!
