Held annually in January the Hot-Air Balloon Festival in Château-d’Oex attracts balloonists from over twenty countries. The picturesque sight of around a hundred balloons in a variety of colours and shapes against the snow capped Alpine peaks is unforgettable.

Air Shows and competitions

A hang-glider, with its smoke trail, weaving in and out of the ballons. Little dots, rapidaly growing as they head for earth, suddently sprouting coloured parachutes. These are a few aspects at the festival. Various competitions will be held during the nine days of the International Balloon Festival. The pilots will consequently have many opportunities to demonstrate their skill and precision. During all the event, the spectators can make a wonderful flight above the Pays-d’Enhaut valley.
