Life in the 18th Century – a look at works of art, furniture and porcelain

Located near to the lake, this beautifully renovated castle dates back to 1730. In addition to its museum, it is particularly reputed for having beautiful grounds laid out in French style and the vegetable garden it has filled with ancient varieties of plants, perpetuated and now very much sort after by present day gardeners.

In 1975, the cantons of Vaud and Geneva donated the Château to the Swiss Confederation to set up a national museum of Switzerland in the Suisse romande, the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
