About this event :
Sion is the capital of the canton of Valais and the oldest town in Switzerland, rich in history and culture with a history that goes back 7’000 years. It has four castles, Valère, Tourbillon, Majorie/Vidomnat and Montorge.
We’re going by train from Lausanne station (cost with a half-fare card: CHF 30.-) to Sion.
We’ll have a guided tour of Valère castle, actually a fortified church, which sits on a hill facing Tourbillon castle. That’s followed by lunch in a local restaurant. The cost is CHF 43.- (including the tour, but excluding drinks).
The timetable is as follows:
9:05 Meet in the main entrance hall of Lausanne station
9.20 Departure from platform 3 in Lausanne station
10:23 Arrival in Sion
11.00 Guided tour of Valere Sion followed by lunch in local restaurant.
15.35 Departure from platform 3 in Sion station
16.40 Arrival in Lausanne
